Editorial Board – Issue 2

Managing Editor
	The mother of four, Lisa Calderone is the author of How to Raise A Family & A Career Under One Roof (Bookhaven Press, 1997) and co-author with Paul & Sarah Edwards of The Entrepreneurial Parent (Putnam/Tarcher, 2002). Currently working in the Web Communications Department at Fairfield University as a writer/editor, Lisa is an MFA candidate who spearheaded the launch of Mason’s Road for her third semester project. She is working on her memoir and living in the New Haven, Conn. area with her family.
Fiction Editors
	Chris Belden has published his short fiction in numerous journals, including Skidrow Penthouse, SN Review, and Brooklyn Bridge. His screenplay, Amnesia, co-written with David Henry, was made into a feature film starring Ally Sheedy & John Savage. He co-wrote & co-starred in the play The Ballad of Larry the Flyer at the 2001 NY International Fringe Festival & the Spoleto Festival. A glutton for punishment, Chris has also released two albums on his own SpankyTone Records label, Songs About Anything and Camouflage. God willing, he will receive his MFA from Fairfield University in December of 2010.
	Nick Knittel has written, co-written, directed, and produced a slew of short films and television episodes while serving as an undergraduate at Ohio University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in video production. A feature-length film he co-wrote, Trailerpark, was an official selection at the Syracuse, Cleveland, and Lake Placid film festivals. He is currently an MFA candidate with Fairfield University and lives in Madison, Wisconsin, where he spends much of his time reading, writing, and watching videos of kittens on YouTube.
Creative Nonfiction Editors
	Elizabeth Hilts is the author of the internationally best-selling Getting In Touch With Your Inner Bitch (now in its third edition), The Bitch in the Bedroom, The Bitch at Work, and the annual Getting In Touch With Your Inner Bitch Calendar. Her most recent book is Every Freaking Day! With Rachell Ray: An Unauthorized Parody. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Fairfield University and is working on a memoir.
	Ioanna Opidee is an adjunct faculty member in Fairfield University’s English department. She titles herself teacher, editor and writer, in no particular order of importance as the roles, in fact, interchange from moment to moment. Her work has been published in various magazines and her home base is Milford, Conn., where she lives with her husband.
Poetry Editors
	Colin D. Halloran is a former infantryman, cheerleading coach, bartender, lobbyist, and public school teacher. He has lived on three continents, and though he currently resides in Hartford, Connecticut, he has yet to define home beyond a state of mind. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Caper Journal, Structo Magazine (UK), and throughout the Internet. When not wandering and writing, Colin serves as a teaching artist, working with students and teachers on incorporating literature into the history classroom. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to read your work and hopes that you will continue to send him your rare and exciting verbal concoctions.
	Brittany Hill is a graduate of Fairfield University with a BA degree in Psychology and a minor in English and is now pursuing her MFA in Poetry at Fairfield where she won Fairfield University’s English Department award, the Gerard Manley Hopkins award for poetry. Brittany was an Associate Editor of the Dogwood Poetry and Prose Journal, which is a national publication, and is the only journal staffed entirely by undergraduate students. She was also part of Fairfield University’s “Poetry by Stealth” initiative, which was comprised of the best poetry writers on campus, and was also a judge for Poetry for Peace, a poetry competition for K-8 grade students in Fairfield and Bridgeport. Brittany attended the launching of The Mezzo Cammin Women Poets Timeline Project held at the National Women of the Arts Museum in Washington, DC., and was part of an interview on WWL Celebrating Women Poets on wnpr.org. Her work will be published in the June 2011 issue of Mezzo Cammin: An Online Journal for Formalist Poetry by Women.
Drama Editor
	Steve Otfinoski, a fourth-semester student in the Fairfield MFA Creative Writing program in fiction, has written more than 50 plays, most of which have been produced in New York City and Connecticut. His theater company for young audiences, History Alive!, has brought his one-person shows about figures from American history to schools throughout Connecticut for 15 years. In his other writing life, Steve is the author of more than 145 books for young adults.
Audio Editor
	Dennis Quinn’s on–air broadcast career spans five decades in New York City radio. As an on-air personality he has hosted programs in formats ranging from top 40 to Disco, AOR to Love Songs on WPIX-FM. In 1988 he segued to Smooth Jazz on CD 101.9. In 1970 he created “Rapline” which combined call-in Talk Radio with rock and pop music. Off-air he has produced numerous radio documentaries including, “Still Rolling,” an award-winning Rolling Stones audio documentary. Dennis has held administrative posts including program director, public service director, and production director, and has been an AFTRA shop steward for 25 years. Academically he was an adjunct professor at Fairfield University for 5 years, where he was the creator and executive producer of the school’s audio magazine, Buzz. In 2007 his course “Early Radio and the American Identity” was selected by Yale as part of its prestigious, Residential College Lecture Series. In the fall of 2008, Dennis became a full-time assistant professor at Hofstra University where he teaches various radio courses in the Radio, Television, and Film Department of the School of Communication. He is also a performance artist. With his group “Warp Spasm,” he performs stories in a genre-bending mix of radio drama, music, and spoken word.

	Brian Hoover is an MFA candidate in Creative Nonfiction at Fairfield University. He thinks about writing all day long and invites you to parse that any way you wish.
