Ryan Stovall (poetry) is a former world traveler, adventurer, and Green Beret whose fiction and poetry has been published in numerous small journals and anthologies around the United States and the world. Unfortunately, he does not show up in photographs.

Miranda Heyman (fiction) received a B.A in Creative Writing from Berry College. She has previously served as an editorial intern for the Sigma Tau Delta Journals. She lives in Trumbull, CT with her two dogs, Sky and Asher. She is currently working on her first novel.

Dane Sawyer is from Yuba City, California and grew up in the shadow of the world’s smallest mountain range, the Sutter Buttes. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from BYU and a Masters in International Affairs and Global Enterprise from The University of Utah. He served in the US Army in Afghanistan and the Philippines. He currently lives in Norwalk, CT, with his wife and daughter. When he isn’t writing, he is being feared by trout in many of the Connecticut rivers.

Susan Davis is a retired English teacher of 28.5 years. She holds a Masters in educational counseling, an MFA in non-fiction creative writing, an MFA in fiction creative writing, and is currently at work on her MFA in poetry. Michelle Hernandez is a poet and educator from the Bronx. She has a Bachelors in English: Creative Writing and Education from Fairfield University where she is now pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts. Michelle is also a mother to 30 houseplants and 2 dogs. 

Renée Newberry received a Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in creative writing and Spanish from Washington College. A Maryland native, she has worked as a journalist and freelance writer in Baltimore and Bel Air, MD, as well as in Kennett Square, PA. She has also enjoyed teaching English to middle and high school students in Baltimore, as well as teaching dance to both children and adults (Renée has previously danced professionally in the Baltimore area). While she initially sought to concentrate solely in fiction writing, she has recently admitted a love for writing “all the things” and is adding some nonfiction and poetry to her studies as well.

Jodeci Nightshade writes about spiritual and social justice, and comes to Causeway Lit with experience in literary magazines and a hunger to read the very best poetry that she can get her hands on. She yearns to be a professor and champion the passions of future generations.

Brenda Sorrels is a graduate of Manhattanville College. Her first job out of college was as assistant to the Beauty Editor at Mademoiselle Magazine. Later, she worked for the Fox Broadcasting Company and wrote The Bachelor Farmers and The Way Back ’Round. She currently lives in Wilton, Connecticut, and loves sharing books and writing.

Associate Editor Molly Mellinger was a poet from California and Connecticut. Her work, which dealt primarily with familial/inherited trauma, appeared in Valparaiso Poetry Review, Connecticut Review, Long River Run, and others. She was mentored by the beloved and missed Kim Bridgford, “first lady of form.” Molly passed away in late 2020, and is a light who will be missed.
